What do you think acting is? If you think acting is about being famous, or about being under the spotlight of the paparazzi then you are aren’t in it for the right reasons. If you are in it just to shine under the spotlight then you aren’t in it for the right reasons and should perhaps consider a different career. Actors think on a much deeper level than the Hollywood glamour a lot of people dream about and pursue acting for. True actors will find it easier to beat their competition because the work on their craft never lies.
Some actors just do it as a hobby, a part time side job, and for those individuals turning craft into a career just will not happen that easily if you don’t have the commitment! As a kid I was very expressive, loud, talkative, passionate and its my uniqueness that helped my peers and teachers tell me that I should become an actor and get an agent. So I did! Growing up with drama classes I learned more and more about myself and how to work on my craft. It’s my child like free spirit that has driven me forward as an artist. Society can put a damper on people that prevents them from being themselves. So many of us get stuck working nine to five jobs mechanically going about our daily lives like robots, hiding our emotions.
People turn to acting to feel human again, that’s why so many people turn to films and movies. I became an actor to teach people about life and the many different scenario’s and experiences that come with it. I am grateful to be honored with the privilege of getting paid to express my creativity. I can’t imagine doing anything else. I became an actor because it’s who I am. Why do you want to be an actor?
Actors are artists that are disciplined, understanding the process takes many years. It’s important that you know what works best for you. There is no specific way of figuring out how to create magic, it’s taking what works for you and adding it to your arsenal of work. Then you create your own style. Very successful actors are actors who know how to shape their brand. By creating specific unique characters that are appealing and interesting to the audience.
Actors often confuse theories and get stuck and don’t make strong choices. Remember its allot easier then you think it is. Less is always more.
